Icon I

Through this tutorial, I will try to achieve something like this:



(*Sigh* Su's so sexy, I know.)

I obtained all my resources from an icon tutorial from Paint-pops.net. See that tutorial if you want to know where I obtained my stuff.

Okay. I will start off with this picture of Su.



Extract the picture in anyway you are comfortable and good at. For me, it was easy because I simply used the Magic Wand Tool with a tolerance of 20. I will write a more detailed tutorial later about the different methods you can use to extract.



Next, I opened a new file of 100x100.

I dragged the texture below which I obtained from a LJ user to the icon file. I changed the colour balance of the texture.



I also dragged my cropped picture of Su and positioned everything so it looks like this.



You might be able to see an ultra thin line of white around Su. You can clean this up by zooming in and erasing those parts

You can say you are badly near-sighted (like WZ) and you couldn't see.

Anyhow, I dragged this texture (which I also obtained from a LJ user) over to the icon on top of Su and set the layer to Screen at 100%.



I also erased some parts to end up with this.



You are pretty much done now. So just add your own decorations (text, etc.) and =) You are done.
